Energy in Motion
An exhibition by Lucas Hesse
With Energy in Motion, Lucas Hesse explores what happens when type stops sitting still. His practice, shaped by years of research across graphic design, typography, and motion, investigates how letterforms behave once set into time.
Rooted in a path that spans rigorous design training, studio experience, and an independent practice in Hamburg, Hesse’s work treats typography not as fixed shape, but as fluid system. In this exhibition, he presents a series of short, looping animations where type aligns, fragments, stretches, collapses – moving not just in space, but in meaning.
